Review of Hunters of Seraphim: Jadin by DX Luc

In the year 4411, females dominate the world. Men are now the weaker sex and all roles have been reversed.
Angela is an accomplished defense attorney and has grown up in a world dominated by women but she craves something more. She secretly yearns for a strong dominant man…not a simpering wimp.
Nestled on an island far from the world Angela knows are a group of mighty male Hunters. They’re strong, dominate and sexy and each Hunter is waiting for the goddess Seraphim to grant him his mate.
After waking from a drug induced sleep, Angela finds herself on this jungle island, playing a game of cat and mouse with Jadin… the sexiest man she’s ever seen. He claims she’s his, but she wants the right to choose. Will Angela be able to give into her hearts desires or will a lifetime of embedded teachings prevent her from having the man of her dreams?

Now, since I wrote the foreword for this book, there isn’t too much I can say in addition to it. However, I can say that it is by far one of the best books I’ve read all year. It’s action packed, sexy, and absolutely original. It’s written flawlessly and I was very impressed by it. Definitely worth a read.

Review of September Tango by Scarlett Jade & Llerxt the 13th

Natural beauty Headshot of sexy Young Brunette Girl outdoors

The town of Major is nothing more than a major disappointment for Zoe Parker. She is living in a grey world after the death of her beloved Mama, and can’t seem to shake the growing depression that threatens to consume her. Things only get worse when she discovers her longtime boyfriend is banging every chick in town.
Her daddy is gone most nights, and all she can think about is the boy who really caught her eye in high school more than five years ago… The one with gorgeous dark skin and smoldering eyes… Too bad he was dating her best friend. Now she floats around, moving through the daily routine with small dreams about getting away from the small town, and finding a real man to claim her heart…

Staff Sergeant Calvin Hall of the US Army is finally putting his boots back on American soil for some R&R. It’s been five years since he joined the military, and he hasn’t looked back since. After dealing with his own troubling past, he wants to lay back and enjoy some time to put it all behind him. But fate has other plans for him… A beautiful woman snags his attention the first day in town and the pull between them is too strong to resist. The problem? She is his ex-girlfriend’s best friend, she is just as broken as he is, and he has a war he has to get back to in two weeks.

Who says a summer romance ever has to end? What if thousands of miles and a war separated you? Would you keep dancing? Or would it simply be… a September Tango?

True love. It’s something that not all of us find, but whether you’ve found it or not, you will believe in it when reading this book. Calvin and Zoe are the epitome of true love. Even though they haven’t seen each other in years, and were never really friends, their hearts come together for an amazingly strong connection; it’s almost unreal how close they become in such a short time. While I read this book, I cried, laughed, and sighed repeatedly. It’s a book that is worthy of a Hallmark or Lifetime Original Movie… It’s an amazing love story that takes the reader on a journey along with the characters. It’s well-written (with the male perspective written by an actual male) and is so fluid that you get lost in the words. There are just some books that suck you in and give you a dreamy feeling by the time you reach the end, and this book has that quality. When I finished, I had to sit in silence and revel in the beauty of the story. Amazing.

Interview with Author Brielle C.

Name: Brielle C.

Website: http://

Why don’t we start by telling the folks a little about you?

As a single mother, I am required to work to pay my bills until I get a good writing gig that will allow me to not have to work and just live my passion as an author and writer! I currently work in the medical field as a Patient Care Technician/Unit Secretary for my local hospital in the ICU. It pays the bills, but is not my passion and hope to be able to transition into writing full-time.

When and why did you start writing?

I’ve been writing since the age of 12, starting out with poetry, song lyrics, Music is my other passion, so song lyrics and poetry was a natural direction for me to go, initially. I just loved it from the beginning, because it was my way to express myself.

Who is your favorite author and why?

I have always loved the works of Jane Austen. Her poetic way of writing and her dialoque between characters is just beautiful and romantic. Plus, the fact she has created the Supreme Model for a man, Mr. Darcy… unfortunately, very few men can come close to him, lol! (Especially Colin Firth) 😉

Do you feel that Jane Austen inspired your writing? Do you feel that your writing is modeled after her?

She has definitely inspired me in my writing! Some of it is modeled after hers in the styling, the poetic flow, and descriptive images she paints. I love being able to describe my characters in a unique way, but still allowing my readers to envision them in their minds.

What do you hope to accomplish with your writing?

To reach a wide audience, to fulfill a desire and need to get this story out as it was meant to be! To live my passion!!!

Traditional or self publishing and why?

I believe I am going to try traditional publishing… I believe in this work, and it’s potential as a trilogy,I feel needs the backing of an agent and a book deal that will allow me to write while making it a career!

Tell us about your most recent book and why we should love or hate your characters.

The Arabs are under attack by the Catalans after a 500 year reign, to take over the Spanish Island city, Ibiza. The current Sheik, Mutazz, discovers his favored mistress, Azizah, is engaging in an elicit affair with his brother, Muhibb. Azizah is exiled and discovers she is pregnant, but who’s the father? Mutazz, being killed in the seige, dies without knowing he possibly has a son, and Muhibb searches without avail to find the exiled Azizah. Years later, young Khalaf returns to Ibiza, claiming his place on the throne, but will he succeed?

My characters… well most of them…even the supporting characters, have endearing qualities about them. They also possess flaws, inner conflicts, and complexities. As far as hating them, Readers may have a love-hate relationship with Mutazz, the Sheik, and even his Brother, Muhibb.

Since it is not yet complete, it’s hard to determine, but this is the intial impression I have, myself! 😉

If your book had a soundtrack, what is the first 5 songs you would include?

Oh wow, that’s a great question… it would definitely be classical music (I’m a classically trained soprano) it would fit with the time period, I don’t have any particular pieces, but I think it would have some haunting arabic music to create a great ambiance.

Aside from writing or reading, what is your favorite pastime?

Singing. I am classically trained as noted above, so I love to sing for church, as soloist, and hope to make a demo and send it in for review by a record company.

What is the one thing you want to do, or the one place you want to go, that you would put at #1 on your bucket list?

Travel to Ibiza!! I want to visit it and learn more about he history, culture, and atmosphere, I want to see what my characters saw 900 years ago!

Finally, what else would you like readers to know?

Aside from this novel, I am working on getting my children’s book series also launched, as well as editing and republishing my book of prose.

Love my future readers and hope to meet you in the near future!!!

Thank you for being my guest today. I was happy to learn more about you and your wonderful self!

Review of A Stroke of Luck by Desiree DeOrto

When you work in an all-night diner, you never know who will walk in the door.

Katie Jones doesn’t believe in love at first sight. After divorcing her abusive husband, she doesn’t believe in love at all. But when Jacob Richmond walked into Bud’s Diner, her disbelief was put to the test.

Jacob came to Kansas to find inspiration. He was searching for the subject that would be the muse for his next masterpiece. He wasn’t expecting to find himself completely consumed by a waitress who had more baggage than he thought possible.

When love at first sight just doesn’t cut it, your burning desire can’t be controlled. Sometimes you need just a little luck to put it all together.

He was searching for inspiration….
She was searching for an escape…
But with a Stroke Of Luck, anything can happen.

I’m reminded of some song lyrics…

I Melt

Everytime you look at me that way

It never fails

 Anytime, anyplace

This burn in me

Is the coolest thing

That I’ve ever felt

I Melt!

… and I certainly felt that way while reading this story.

From the very first chapter, I was so captivated by the heat that was coming from my Nook that I almost forgot to breathe; breathing wasn’t a necessity until I found out what happened next. Speaking of the heat, I thought my Nook was over-heating, at first, until I realized it was me who was over-heating! It couldn’t have been hotter if it was happening to me. Of course, if it were happening to me, that would make me the luckiest girl ever. But, I guess that’s why it’s called ‘A Stroke of Luck’.

Katie was the luckiest girl in the world when Jacob walked in to her restaurant and into her life. Not only was he mysteriously sexy, but he was also an artist who was desperate to get his hands on her.

In addition to the amazing story and the intense heat, the writing was fluid and easy to read. There were a few placed that needed some improvement, but I still really enjoyed it.

Review of Charmed by Cambria Hebert

Life or Death? Not many people would choose death. But what if death chooses you? What if death doesn’t mean the end of your life, but the beginning?

For a Death Escort, death is life. Death is your paycheck. Death is your job.

And Charming is the best Escort the Grim Reaper has ever had.

But when you piss off the Reaper, being the best doesn’t matter. So Charming is assigned a Target who is practically impossible to kill. He knows the Reaper hopes he fails—that he’s counting on it. So Charming vows to prove him wrong. He vows to make the kill.

But someone else vows to get in his way. Someone with a big mouth, a sugar habit, and blond hair. Someone who makes his heart start beating again.

And so Charming is left holding more than one person’s fate in the palm of his hand. He thought the choice would be easy, that there really wasn’t a question at all.

He was wrong.

Life or Death?

While the prologue did not capture my attention as much as I wish it had- I was bored through most of the scene- once I got passed that, I was really intrigued. But, then again, I am usually instantly pulled in when one of the characters is “dead”. By the end of Chapter 5, I had fallen in love with Charming and his arrogant ass. At points, I felt like I was almost sucked in to my Nook and transported to another time and place where this story was playing out in front of my eyes. And, I’m not just talking about the Frankie parts; Charming was the same way. Writing in the first person can be tricky, to say the least, but Cambria Hebert writes it in a way that seems almost effortless. While there were areas that could stand some improvement- as there is for any author- I feel that Ms. Hebert is a true talent, with a best-selling novel on her hands.

September Tango by Scarlett Jade & Llerxt the 13th

Guest Blog Post by Scarlett Jade:

Love at First Sight

Do I believe in love at first sight? Sure, I’m a total romantic. Does it happen? Honestly, no. There is definitely interest and lust at first sight.

When did I know I loved my husband? When I was crying and he kissed me. I saw stars and the whole world went fuzzy.

To absolutely quote the movie Never Been Kissed, “That thing, that moment, when you kiss someone and everything around becomes hazy and the only thing in focus is you and this person and you realize that that person is the only person that you’re supposed to kiss for the rest of your life, and for one moment you get this amazing gift and you want to laugh and you want to cry because you feel so lucky that you found it and so scared that that it will go away all at the same time.”

So maybe love at first touch is more accurate. My husband says he fell in love when he kissed me as well. I have to say it was one of the most memorable moments of my life.

I believe in fate, star crossed lovers, and the whole nine yards. You can be attracted to someone, be in lust with someone, but I don’t believe a true connection can be made until you touch. I think that human touch is one of the most powerful things anyone can experience.

I’m definitely not saying go around kissing every frog in the pond trying to find your Prince… I’m just saying that it’s hard to know if you and another are compatible until that moment happens. From a romance/erotica novelist stand point… you will definitely know when that moment happens.

Review of The Coffee Shop by Lauren Hunter

The Coffee ShopRATING: B-

If Derrick thought experiencing alternate timelines and glimpses into the future was strange, then he had no idea it was about to get a whole lot more strange.

When Derrick Sloane meets Annie Maddock and falls madly in love, he believes he’s met the girl of his dreams. Only he then awakes to discover she is exactly that…nothing more than a dream. Disheartened, he goes to the first coffee shop he can find. There he meets Annie. She is at the same table, reading the same book, and he fast realizes his dream has shown him his own future. But when a misstep alters that perfect future he tries to fix it, every attempt only making it worse.

Dreaming the future can be a nightmare when you see what’s coming…and can’t do anything to change it.

This was a sweet story, but there were a lot of places that needed improvement. For example, there was almost no lead in; a few pages of traffic and boom he’s meeting a woman and making plans for the next day. It was a little unbelievable at times, but it was executed in such a way that that didn’t really matter. Tons of dialogue and little else.

That being said, I thought this was a nice romantic rendezvous and, with a little work and a good editor, this author could really have a career in this. The one thing that I really loved was the moral of the story… “Change your routine and take chances; you never know what might happen.”

Guest Post- Shyla Colt & Nikki Prince

We just wanted to thank Genevieve , for having us over!

This was our first co-authored piece together and we had a blast!

Sanura Bast is willing to risk everything to keep her Pride of Pumas safe from Logan’s scheme to sell their land off to the highest bidder, including masquerading as his fiancée. After almost a year playing a role that disgusts her, she gets the intangible proof she’s been looking for. Desperate to end the charade, she turns to her ally, Rafael. Banished for losing his control with a human, Rafael’s been looking for a way back to his Pride and to Sanura ever since. The woman set his blood on fire before she was old enough to accept what he wanted from her. Together they plot to stop Logan before he becomes chief, and now she has the proof they need to save her Pride. With that goal in sight, Rafael is ready to take what’s always been his and claim Sanura as his own.

Sanura studied herself in the mirror, immediately recognizing the hunger that lurked in the dilated depths of her hazel eyes. She freed her hair from its elastic prison, pleased by the golden highlights brought out in the auburn tresses that fell to her shoulders. A lady wanted to look good for her gentleman, no matter what the circumstances. Blood filled her face. Desire stirred once more at the thought of an able-bodied male. There was no use denying she’d reached the pinnacle of her cycle.

The circumstances that had brought her to this point were daunting, but the meeting she’d set up for the evening would hopefully end all that. It angered her that the archaic tradition of the Pride choosing mates was still in place. If she hadn’t been engaged they would’ve forced her to bond with him. There was a big difference between mating and bonding, sort of like comparing fucking to marriage.

If only she could solve all of this by riding out her cycle, literally if she had anything to say about it, and go back to her Pride a single woman once more in control of her destiny. A soft groan escaped parted lips as her need increased. The intense arousal moved through her body, as if to mock her train of thought.

Bracing her weight against the sink, she gripped the edge of the counter as she fought to tamp down an orgasm. She’d waited as late as she could to get to the hotel, because she was afraid of being trailed. Now the fire that burned inside her needed to be extinguished. Her nipples peaked beneath the comfy black track suit, and her panties grew damp from the abundance of cream she produced. A small moan escaped, and she willed him to arrive and soon.

This was what the Pride’s shaman had warned her about. Unlike the other females in her Pride, her breeding cycle was very unique. As the daughter of their Chief, she was the only alpha female in her Pride. When her cycle came Sanura had to mate with an alpha male to end her heat. This was fine, until the Pride had decided it was time for her to bond and determine the next in line for Chief. Bonding for her people was different from most. For them it was a choice, not a biological response. The sharing of souls was a deeply spiritual experience she refused to have soiled by Pride politics. Her father would be upset. But he loved her. Eventually he’d get over the fact that she’d thwarted his plans to choose her path for her. Especially, when he found out about all ofLogan’s lies.

Another wave of desire threatened to buckle her knees, shattering her thought process. I can’t even be out in public like this. Thank God, she was in her room right now. Sanura attempted to redirect her thoughts and failed, biting back a scream as her body shuddered and the wave began to build once more.

Her gaze was drawn to the bed where a night of passion would provide her with freedom she craved. No one else seemed to understand her urgency. Her sensitive nipples rubbed against the fabric of her bra. She gasped, and she sprang into action. Kicking off the black sneakers and socks, she slipped out of the track pants and white tank top, leaving the pieces where they fell. She had to come, even if it was by her own hand. The door opened with a soft click, and her breathing quickened. He was here, moving toward the bathroom by the sound of it. Fuck! There’s no time to get dressed again.

His scent ensnared her, musk and forest pines blended, throwing her heat into overdrive as it tickled her nostrils. Her gaze was drawn to the doorway like a magnet, and she watched him approach, his broad body shrouded in shadows. Anticipation ran rampant. He was about six two with long silky black hair, copper-toned skin, and eyes that mirrored a dark abyss. Rafael looked like his Native American ancestors. An unusual blend of Latin and Native American the man turned heads wherever he went. As he entered the bathroom he held up his hand to show her a red blindfold.

“What’s that for?” she whispered.

“For you, of course. I can see that you almost started the party without me.”

“No, you need to go back into the room. Let me dress so we can talk.”

“We’re not going anywhere until I claim you as I should’ve a long time ago.”

He moved forward, and she could see the intent in his eyes, the blindfold still dangling from his fingers.

“No, no excuses. I’m going to show you what it’s been like to wait.”

Pleased she offered him her back, turning away from the mirror. He pressed his body against her. The feel of cloth covering her eyes was so sensual it made her shudder. The red cloth stole away her vision, and her heart thudded in her chest. Her ears twitched, and her nostrils flared as her other senses heightened.

His body was firm and tight beneath his layer of clothing. The bulge in his pants nudged her back, making her wonder if he’d planned this all along. His teeth grazed her neck, and all thoughts fled. A low mewl of pleasure released from her throat. She reveled in the relief from the burning heat that swamped her body.

Review of Tucked In: Jessica by N. Kuhn

Lance Tucker has spent years trying to forget one of his early clients. Having thought she was dead, he spent his career trying to make up for it. Until she walks back into his life, upsetting the careful balance he once had. Can he forgive Jessica and help her escape the grasp of The Master, leader of The Coven?

Christian Thompson is the Golden Boy of Hollywood. When you have too much money, boredom is your greatest enemy. We see it all the time, funny religions, groups and cults provide a way to relieve the rich of their money and beliefs. He disappears with his son, and Tuck must face The Coven, posing as a Religion, to save the child. Will Jessica be able to help him, or is she just there to get in the way. Tuck faces his greatest challenge to date, forgiveness.

Remember how in my first review of Tucked In: Lianna, I said I had basically fallen in love at first sight with Tuck? Well, this book cemented that! I might as well have dropped on my knees and begged sweet mercy. Damn, that man is fine! Can I get lost, just so Tuck can find me and drag me back to his place for some punishment?

Now, while this book had more action and had our hero finding his true love, I think I enjoyed Tucked In: Lianna better. That being said, I am enjoying where the author is going with this series and I am excited for the next episode.

Until next “week” Tuck. Until, we meet again. ❤

Review of He Watches Me by Cynthia Sax

Warning: 18+ Review

She desires to be seen.
He wants to watch.

Anna Sampson has a naughty secret. Every night, she slips into her neighbor’s yard and swims naked in his pool. She fantasizes that the dynamic young billionaire watches her nightly nude aquatics, his brilliant green eyes gleaming with lust.

She discovers this isn’t pure fantasy. Gabriel Blaine has been watching her via his security cameras, and now that he has returned to L.A., he doesn’t plan to stop. That’s all he wants—to watch. Anna knows she shouldn’t allow him and she certainly shouldn’t want more, but she craves Blaine’s attention, needing his gaze fixed on her body.

Part One of The Seen Trilogy

Wow, what a ride! This short story was amazing! It was fast paced, erotic, and oh so hot! There is something absolutely sexy about a man who refuses himself a touch and simply watches. The dark mystery of Gabriel is so enticing that I actually shiver when I hear his voice. And, I really can hear it. The author did such a great job with the story that I could hear and see everything. I can not wait to read part 2!
